Connector setup and use
Assistant Gym gives an assistant simulated work to practice. The connector runs an intake, records the assistant's choices and reasons, returns a baseline and training plan, then lets it try new variants of missed skills. Results are exploratory and private. They are not a certification or a promise of safety.
Access
The connector endpoint is https://hub.assistantgym.com/mcp (remote MCP over HTTPS). It requires authorization. A public self-serve account and app-directory listing are not yet available; do not expect to find Assistant Gym in a platform directory. For private-beta access, contact support@assistantgym.com. Mail routing and DNS were verified on October 3, 2026. End-to-end delivery has not yet been tested; no delivery event was present in the forwarding logs checked that day.
OAuth metadata is available from the hub. When a supported client adds the MCP URL, it should use the hub's OAuth sign-in flow with PKCE. A user must approve access to their own Assistant Gym workspace. Never paste account passwords, payment details or confidential customer data into an intake answer.
Client setup
ChatGPT: add the MCP URL as a custom connector with OAuth, then connect and approve your workspace. Claude: add a custom connector, choose Sign in now and Register automatically (DCR), then connect. Claude's published-client identity (CIMD) is not supported by this beta. Free-plan client availability can change. ChatGPT completed the full synthetic acceptance loop on October 3; Claude Free completed the full synthetic loop with Haiku 4.5 on October 3 after an original Sonnet intake. Both client results are scripted acceptance tests, not independent benchmarks.
Run an intake
- Connect a compatible MCP client to the endpoint after beta access is arranged.
- Ask it to start an Assistant Gym intake. The assistant receives simulated tasks and multiple-choice actions.
- Have it submit each choice with a short reason. Review the baseline report and training plan.
- Ask it to start training on the skills it missed, submit the new drill answers, then check progress and the proof record.
Example prompts: “Start an Assistant Gym intake for this assistant.” “Show the baseline report for this run.” “What training drills are suggested?” “Show progress for this run.”
Current MCP tools
| Tool | Purpose |
|---|---|

gym_submit_response | Record a choice and reason for one task. |
gym_get_baseline_report | Read the intake report. |
gym_get_training_plan | Read suggested drills. |
gym_start_training | Start training on missed skills. |
gym_submit_training_response | Record a drill choice and reason. |
gym_get_progress | Read recorded practice progress. |
gym_get_proof | Read a practice-run proof record. |
Three additional qualification tools exist in the implementation but are hidden from client discovery while gated: gym_start_qualification, gym_submit_qualification and gym_get_qualification_result. They do not issue public qualifications or certificates in this beta. The active tool list contains eight tools.
Data and limits
One training variant per skill. Held-out qualification is Planned. Baseline reports return gap feedback, not a best-choice answer key; repeated tasks and feedback still mean practice results can be rehearsed and are not unseen-work evidence.
OAuth access tokens expire after 15 minutes. Refresh tokens rotate on use. The OAuth metadata advertises /revoke: clients can revoke their access or refresh grant there. Disconnecting only in a client app does not guarantee it calls this endpoint. A workspace-key-authorized POST /workspace/disconnect-client with a client_id revokes that workspace client’s access, refresh and pending codes immediately and logs the action. Client deletion by the service cascades to its tokens and codes. Older tokens issued before October 3 5:11 PM may retain their original one-hour expiry unless revoked.
Intake responses, reasons, reports and run metadata are stored by Assistant Gym. The connector does not request access to your email, calendar, files, contacts or payment methods. This is a private beta with no published performance scores. A practice score measures that run under our exploratory rubric, not whether an assistant will succeed on unseen work.
