A new kind of visitor

Your website is for humans. Who's ready for their assistants?

A person might browse your site, compare products and ask customer service for help. Their assistant may never see your website as a person does.

It may seek a machine-readable service, use an API, communicate with your own assistant and complete the work through several internal systems.

Assistant-ready means your organization can successfully understand and get that work done.

An organization's digital presence

Website. App. Call center.

Optimized for people finding and requesting information or services.

An assistant-ready organization

Requests. Assistants. Systems. Results.

Capable of receiving delegated demand and fulfilling supported requests through its own assistants and applications.

The customer experience has already changed

When assistants act for a business, the consequences are real.

A made-up refund policy, an unexpected commitment and a deleted production database show why organizations must be ready for assistants using their systems.

Beyond an API

Assistant-ready is an operating capability.

Publishing machine-readable interfaces is necessary in many workflows, but it isn't enough. The organization must be able to do the work that comes through them.

Discoverable

Assistants can find what the organization offers and where supported work begins.

Understandable

Services, constraints, current rules and escalation paths are legible to assistants.

Connected

Customer assistants can work with the organization's own assistants, applications and systems.

Authorized

Identity, mandates, permission boundaries and human approvals remain meaningful.

Accountable

The organization can establish what actually happened and whether the request was fulfilled.

Assistant-ready operations

A request is not finished just because an assistant says it is.

Your organization needs to understand requests arriving from customer, employee, partner and supplier assistants, respond with current information, apply permissions and verify what actually happened. Your own assistants need the same discipline.

The customer side

An assistant requests a part, preserving the device specifications, price, timing and consent.

The organization side

Current catalog, certification, availability, authorization, handoff and repair evidence determine the real outcome.

An assistant-ready service handoff

A part request needs current compatibility, exclusions, a named approval actor, and a truthful next step. The workflow is only finished when both the requester and the organization can act on the same evidence.

Synthetic workflow illustration, not a production integration.

Better outcomes start with a better operating setup.

Define the goal, find the right context and tools, set the workflow and check what actually happened.

Guess who an assistant speaks to?

Often, another assistant. And that one may work with several more before the request can be fulfilled.

What we are building

Not another chatbot. An organization that works with assistants.

An assistant-ready organization is capable of accepting work from assistants representing people and other businesses, and getting that work through its own operations.

That requires more than communication. An assistant needs to know what the organization can do, which rules apply, what actions are supported, how to coordinate with internal assistants, when a human must decide and how completion is confirmed.

The organization's assistants also need to become better at their particular jobs. Good performance depends on their configuration, context, tools, authority and ability to coordinate.

One illustrative journey

“Find the right part and get the repair done.”

01 / Incoming demand

An outside assistant arrives.

The customer's intent includes getting the equipment working, cost, timing and compatibility, not merely buying an item.

02 / Organization coordinates

Several capabilities come together.

Product information, inventory, service scheduling, authorization and potentially a human technician must align.

03 / Outcome

Was the problem solved?

The correct state must be observed: compatible item, authorized steps, service result and what remains unfinished.

Begin with one operational journey

Your assistants. Their assistants.
One better outcome.

Choose an internal workflow or a service requested by an outside assistant. Start with its process owner, current information, approval points and definition of a useful result.

Inside the organizationPlanning tool

Improve your own assistants.

Make one recurring service, decision or coordination task work better for the people responsible for it.

Across the organization’s boundaryPlanning tool

Serve visiting assistants.

Make it easier for a customer, employee, supplier or partner assistant to request help and receive a usable handoff.

Scope the incoming journey ↗

What the brief gives you

A portable scope covering the request, sources, participants, permissions and acceptance evidence. It is a starting point for a workflow engagement, not an installed integration or a submitted pilot application.

The opportunity

Get ready for a different kind of demand.

A business can put many assistants to work at once—and receive requests from many more. Serving that demand well means clearer commitments, better decisions and fewer mistakes for both sides.

Assistant Gym is one company helping people use better assistants and helping organizations work successfully with assistants. Both sides strengthen the same future of work.

A first-principles test

Can an outside assistant achieve a legitimate outcome with this organization?

That's stronger than counting API calls, chatbot replies or visitors. It's the test we design backward from, not a marketing slogan.
